This is something I work with often. In my years as a high school counselor, I've supported many families navigating this process for the first time, whether because parents attended college outside the U.S., didn't attend college themselves, or simply haven't been through this system before. My goal is to explain the process clearly, answer questions without judgment, and help families make confident, informed decisions.

School counselors care deeply about their students, but with large caseloads, their time is often stretched between various students and grade levels. With Ever Bright, your student gets dedicated one-on-one meetings and a plan built entirely around them. I work alongside your school counselor, not in place of them. Think of it as extra support, not a substitute.

Yes. UC and CSU applications are an important part of the process for many California families. I help students understand how the systems differ, approach the UC Personal Insight Questions, complete each application carefully, and build a balanced list of California public universities.

No. Essays should always be written by the student. My role is to help students brainstorm, organize their ideas, revise their drafts, and communicate more clearly while still sounding like themselves. The goal is an essay that feels honest, specific, and authentic to the student’s voice.

No. No counselor can ethically guarantee admission to a college or university. What I can do is help students build a thoughtful college list, make informed decisions, strengthen their applications, and present themselves with clarity and purpose.

Parents are an important part of the process, but the student stays at the center. I help parents understand timelines, deadlines, and next steps so they can support their student without feeling like they have to manage every detail themselves.

Once work has begun on a program, fees paid are non-refundable. I'll always walk you through the full terms in the client agreement before we get started, so there are no surprises.
